5 Foods to Limit on Your Chances of Getting Cancer

The rate at which people are contracting cancer is abnormal and worrying which means it is high time we take charge and adopt to means through which we can reduce the chances of contracting the chronic illness.

Here are some foods that you could add to your diet in order to limit on your chances of contracting cancer;

1. Broccoli:

Studies indicate that broccoli contains sulforaphane, a plant compound found in cruciferous vegetables that may have potent anticancer properties.

Basing on a test-tube study, it was discovered that sulforaphane reduces the size and number of breast cancer cells up to 75% while it is also known to kill off prostate cancer cells and reduce tumor volume by more than 50%.

2. Carrots:

Various studies have indicated that carrots reduce on chances of contracting certain cancers. Among such cancers include stomach cancer whose chances are lowered to 26% while it reduces on the chances of contracting prostate cancer up to 18%.

In a study that was conducted on a group of smokers, it was concluded that smokers that eat carrots are three times less likely to suffer from lung cancer while those who do not eat carrots at least once a week were more inclined to suffer from lung cancer.

3. Beans:

Beans are high in fibers and some research findings indicate that they are likely to protect and reduce on one’s chances of contracting colorectal cancer. The study further indicates that for people who have colorectal tumors, eating cooked, dried beans is likely to reduce the recurrence of tumor.

Furthermore, eating a few serving of beans may increase your fiber intake and therefore lower your risk of developing this disease.

4. Berries:

Berries contain anthocyanins which are plant pigments that have antioxidant properties and may be associated with reduction of chances of contracting with this disease. In a study of 25 people suffering from colorectal cancer were treated with bilberry extract for seven days, which found to reduce the growth of cancer cells by 7%.

5. Cinnamon:

Aside from its known benefits in the chances of limiting the contract of blood sugar and easing inflammation, a test-tube study indicated that cinnamon extract was able to decrease the spread of these cells and induce their death.

Cinnamon essential oil is known to suppress the growth of head and neck cancer cells as well as decreasing how much tumors grew and spread.

Therefore, according to scientific evidence, it has been proven that eating these foods would certainly decrease on the risks and chances of one contracting cancer whose rates are skyrocketing over time.
